Office hours

Move from thinking to action…

Come with a problem or question, or frankly just an iffy-uncomfortable-feeling-marinating-in-uncertainty in your mind, soul, or physical day to day experiences at work.

Most often folks come to us with an ick or concern around attrition, burnout, engagement, or creativity…

Leave with clarity, insights, direction, and guidance from our unique blend of experience and expertise in phenomenology, implementation science, sociology, the art & science of teaching & learning, and brain science.

aka: learning (re)design.

Consider CLA Office Hours your third space for laying down your concerns, uncertainty, and fears around how learning is working (or not working!) in your organization or team.

Get the context-rich insights and tangible next best steps you’ve been wanting.

Learning in the 21st century is more complex than a Google Search or a next-day delivery from Amazon. It is nuanced, it is context-specific, it is collaborative. It is essential. If we want life and work to be different - better (for people and planet) - we must address and do differently: what and how we learn.

P.S. The 75 minute design is intentional. I’m tired of a world operating on back-to-back meetings. Most calendars/schedulers work on half hour increments: top of the hour or half past. With our 75 minutes approach - you're more likely to have 15 minutes just for you before your next appointment. Yes, we will encourage you to use it just for you. Your brain will thank you.

Curious? Let’s get a vibe & values check:

We are for you if:

  1. You are passionate in your purpose.

  2. You believe in the positive impact of human potential and advocate for its prerequisite of protected human rights.

  3. You know that there’s not a scarcity issue on the planet but a distribution-access-design-respect issue.

  4. You’re in a space where you can engage with alternative ways of doing learning & development (aka we are grounded in the arts & sciences).

The Not-So-Fine-Print

By scheduling and purchasing Office Hours from CLA you accept responsibility to stand up in those values. Full stop.

If we find out you’re postering, seeking predatory-extractive-state-quo reinforcing learning design support, we will call you in, ask a few questions, and if need be end the call, keep enough of your money to cover a % of operating costs, and donate the rest to a non-profit that would piss you off. (seriously)

Beth and I have been working together on the annual BLD Southeast conference since 2022. I am well aware that I am a visionary, and the composition of our planning committee reflects that fact--we now have an incredible team with some wildly brilliant, and complementary, minds. And that includes Beth.

On a recent planning call, I was fumbling through my vision for the content tracks at this year's conference. I could envision it, but Beth could see what was missing from bringing the vision to a successful reality when butts are in seats and attendees are bouncing from workshop to workshop.

I booked some time with her and spent two hours on a call--and Beth pressed me. "What do we want people to leave with?" "If you were an attendee in this track, what is your takeaway?" Then we worked backwards from those answers to new questions as we developed each individual session for all three tracks. Her curiosity helped us land on three great track descriptions and what will be some really impactful workshops for our attendees. Ultimately, I know the time I spent working with her is going to be the difference between being a fun event and being a can't miss conference.

Beth's experience as an educator shines through. We don't create the content to achieve the learning outcome, we set the learning outcome and create the content to get us there. Most importantly, she was able to get me to let my guard down--my ideas were good, but they weren't clear. She is a safe space to be vulnerable, put your pride aside, and take your idea to the next level.

Let’s get you moving towards greater clarity, engagement, creativity, and joy through learning (re)design.
