Hey y’all, my name is Beth. I am the Founder x CEO of Custom Learning Atelier.

Here’s a little bit about CLA…

We exist because we are fed up with the difference between the promise & potential of learning design and its experienced reality. We are here to elevate the good and disrupt the bad in organized learning design.

We are grounded in what we call Harmonic Agency Theory, which is a synthesis of several variations of the critical theme. Operationally it rejects polarizing binaries and opts instead for an intentional study of the tensions that lay in between and amongst entities. Specifically, it seeks and dwells in the in-between-ness, in the tenuous intersections of agency and an organization’s structure as experienced by its ecosystem of people, its stakeholders.

(Yeah, we get nerdy…more on this at another time.)

Our baseline (re)design framework starts with asking:

  • How do you want people to feel?

  • What do you want people to think about?

  • What do you want people to know?

  • What do you want people to be able to do?
